3.1 DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE

All user data in BudCal is stored exclusively on your device. We do NOT store your personal data on our servers. The following data is stored locally:

Company/contractor name
Business address (street, postal code, city, country)
Tax ID number (NIP)
Phone number and email address
Website URL
Company logo (stored as JPG file)
Currency and measurement unit preferences

B. Client Information:

Client name (first/last name or company name)
Contact details (phone number, email)
Client address (street, postal code, city, country)
Client type (individual or company)
Tax ID (for companies)
GPS coordinates (optional, only if you explicitly request location)

C. Project/Estimate Data:

Estimate name and creation date
Project status (draft, completed, archived)
Room dimensions and calculations
Services and pricing information (labor, materials, quantities)
Currency conversion settings
PDF export preferences
Estimate validity period

D. Photos and Media:

Room photos captured via camera or imported from photo library
Photos stored in the app's private Documents folder
Both full-resolution and thumbnail versions
Company logo image
All photos remain on your device only

Review request history

3.2 DATA SENT TO OUR SERVERS

We collect minimal data through our API for essential functionality:

A. Version Check:

Current app version number
Platform type (iOS)
Purpose: To notify you of important updates and security patches
Frequency: Once per 24 hours (maximum)
Legal Basis: Legitimate interest (app security and functionality)

B. Language Preference:

Your selected language
Purpose: To serve localized privacy policy and terms of use documents

BudCal does NOT use:

7. DATA RETENTION

7.1 LOCAL DATA

All data is stored on your device until you delete it
Estimates, clients, and photos: Stored indefinitely until manually deleted
App preferences: Stored until you uninstall the app
Review history: Reset yearly or when you complete a review

7.2 SERVER DATA

Version check data: Not stored (processed in real-time)
API logs: Retained for 30 days maximum for security purposes
No personal data is stored on our servers

7.3 DELETION

When you delete an estimate:

All associated photos are permanently deleted
All room data and calculations are removed
Deletion is immediate and irreversible

When you uninstall the app:

All data is permanently removed from your device
No data remains on our servers (as none was stored there)

8. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR Articles 15-22)

Under GDPR and Polish law, you have the following rights:

A. Right of Access (Article 15):

Access all your data through the app interface
Export estimates as PDF documents

B. Right to Rectification (Article 16):

Edit any information in the app at any time
Update client details, company info, or estimates

Uninstall the app to remove all data

9. PERMISSIONS AND HOW WE USE THEM

The app requests the following iOS permissions:

9.1 CAMERA ACCESS

Purpose: Take photos of rooms for your estimates
When Requested: Only when you tap the camera button
Data Storage: Photos stored locally in app's private folder
Your Control: Grant or deny in iOS Settings
Legal Basis: Your explicit consent

9.2 PHOTO LIBRARY ACCESS

Purpose: Select existing photos from your device
When Requested: When you choose "Photo Library" option
Data Storage: Selected photos copied to app's private folder
Your Control: Grant or deny in iOS Settings
Legal Basis: Your explicit consent

9.3 LOCATION ACCESS

Purpose: Save GPS coordinates for client locations; enable navigation
When Requested: Only when you manually request location for a client
Type: "When In Use" only (no background tracking)
Data Storage: Coordinates stored locally with client record
Your Control: Grant, deny, or ask each time in iOS Settings
Legal Basis: Your explicit consent
Note: Location is NEVER tracked in the background

9.4 PHOTO LIBRARY ADDITIONS

Purpose: Save exported PDFs or photos to your device gallery
When Requested: When you choose to export/save
Your Control: Grant or deny in iOS Settings

IMPORTANT: All permissions are optional. You can use the app without granting any permissions, though some features will be limited.

10. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

10.1 TECHNICAL MEASURES

All data encrypted at rest by iOS (when device is locked with passcode)
HTTPS encryption for all API communications
API request signing with HMAC-SHA256 to prevent tampering
API key obfuscation (not stored in plain text)
App sandbox isolation (data not accessible to other apps)
No third-party SDKs that could access your data

10.2 ORGANIZATIONAL MEASURES

Minimal data collection by design
No server-side personal data storage
Regular security updates via App Store
Version checking to notify users of security patches

10.3 YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Protect your device with a passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
Keep iOS updated to the latest version
Do not jailbreak your device
Be careful when sharing PDF estimates (they contain data you entered)

11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data is NOT transferred internationally
All data remains on your device (physically located where you are)
API requests go to servers located in the European Union
No data transfers outside the EU/EEA occur

12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

BudCal is not directed at children under 16 years of age
We do not knowingly collect data from children
The app is designed for professional use by adults
If you believe a child has provided data, contact us immediately

13. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND PROFILING

BudCal does NOT use automated decision-making
No profiling of users occurs
No AI/ML models analyze your data
All calculations are transparent mathematical formulas

14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

Changes in the app's functionality
Changes in legal requirements
Improvements to data protection practices

When we make changes:

15. SPECIFIC GDPR COMPLIANCE INFORMATION

Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA):
Due to the local-only nature of data storage and minimal processing, a formal DPIA is not required under GDPR Article 35.

Data Protection Officer (DPO):
As we do not process personal data on a large scale or engage in regular and systematic monitoring, we are not required to appoint a DPO under GDPR Article 37.

Data Breach Notification:

In the event of a data breach affecting our servers (though no personal data is stored there), we will notify the appropriate supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by GDPR Article 33
If the breach poses a high risk to your rights, we will notify you directly as required by GDPR Article 34
Due to local-only storage, the risk of data breach from our side is minimal
